Ed Walker developed an interest in drawing, sketching and painting during his early school days and went on to have a career in art with DC Thomson where he worked for over 42 years. Initially a graphic designer on the Jackie magazine, Ed
also worked on several other magazine titles. His last ten years at DC Thomson were spent as Art Department Manager.
Following a holiday in St Ives 11 years ago, Ed was inpsired by both artists and local scenery and began to develop his interest in watercolour painting. He subsequently enrolled in Norma McLean's watercolour class in Arbroath and has been painting ever since. Often drawng inspiration from local landscapes and buildings that he has visited, Ed aims to capture the atomosphere and feeling of the subject matter in his paintings. Over the last two years Ed's interest has developed into portraiture and the use of oils.
